This is done more often than you think. It is not bending the rules. You are not obligated. Say no.

Unhappy being asked to give a Disfellowshipped Sister a ride to and from Meetings
by Isambard Crater ini'm pimo, very much against disfellowshipping, and going to a meeting leaves me feeling confused and angry at the best of times.
except an elder asked me on thursday night if i can start giving a ride to a disfellowshipped woman because she lives near me and nobody else from the hall lives in my village.
it seems the elder and his family who have been giving this woman a ride for the past six months can no longer stomach the time it takes them to go out of their way.. i thought all normal publishers weren't to have any contact with disfellowshipped people?

Read the paragraph first, then answer the questions:
Many people are looking for answers about God. They often gravitate towards magical teachings that tend to impress rather than inform. Do you think that is how God makes himself known? Many do. But we know God has a name. It's Jehovah. Jehovah wants you to know him which means associating with his people. Jesus said, "Join up fool". We want to do what Jesus says or Jehovah will not listen to your prayers. Jesus says we should attend all the meeting and study hard to know Jehovah. If we don't, his people will hunt us down to make sure they should ignore us when we are drowning.
Questions for review:
1) What are people looking for?
2) How does a "fool join up?
3) What will happen if we don't go to all the meetings and study this crap?

This probably sounds uppity. I'm saying it anyhow
by stillin inhas anybody else noticed a pattern that is here among us outcasts?
there seems to be, on average, a higher level of intelligence here than there is at the kingdom hall.
actually, intelligent conversation seems to be looked down upon among the witnesses.. also, the simple language skills found here seem to be above average compared to those among the witnesses.

My dad never got passed third grade but he saw through the Watchtower bull crap. Its not about education, its about whether or not we allow ourselves to be mesmerized by our desire to appear intelligent.

Masters of the art of Reverse Snobbery
by stillin inthey create their own measure of what "success" is.
the reward for their endeavor is, at best, a sense of accomplishment at the end of an otherwise worthless life.
but in real-world terms, the things that pass for actual success are looked down upon as stupid, like shoveling coal to keep a sinking ship's engine running.

To them success is letting your child die for lack of a life saving blood transfusion. Enough said.
Ok everyone, finish the review:
"Let's review, its a ...."

I was quite tolerant of this guy until now
by never a jw inpresident trump is definitely a demagogue, a populist, and not a great extemporaneous speaker, just to mention few of his more conspicuous flaws.
however, i was going along because "it's the economy stupid".
now that has changed.

POTUS likes his name attached to everything, buildings, steaks, ties etc. I wonder how he'll feel when the he has a worldwide recession named after him? Winning!

What does shunning acomplish?
by poopie inwell in order to shun someone you must dehumanize them much like what occurred in slavery.
dehumanizing someone now allows you treat them worst then an animal.
and now you can justify ignoring them there not human anymore.

WT shunning has the undesired effect of creating hordes of double agents. (Undesired by the Org.) People who don't give a shit about being a JW, they only want their rights to family inclusion and a place in polite society with their friends. It is a farce that hurts the Watchtower more than they know. How many have you known who only came back to have family association and then faded into subtle apostasy? I've read of many on here.

They forgot to mention the danger of "Pillow talk". Once you go down that road there's no coming back. -

i remember reading once about some young pioneer sisters who needed emergency accommodation and where turn away from brooklyn because they weren’t special pioneers.
charity begins at home..

“Otherwise, some may associate with us only for personal advantage.”" What the hell do they think all these converts are there for? For the personal advantage of not being slaughtered by Jeheebie in the big "A".

A spy's life is a lonely one
by LevelThePlayingField inso i have been awake since about this time in 2013, so about 5 years.
and the craziest thing about it is that now, no one, and i mean no one know's i am an apostate.
meaning, that i don't believe the jw minds set/beliefs at all, and no one knows it.

Every day that passes is one less to live. If you are content with the situation then just put up with it. If it is not satisfactory then I would make a plan to ease out. There are hard choices to be made, but what would you do to capture your days back and live them honestly? I feel for you. Good luck. -
